During 2011 EDPR’s 33 million euros of infrastructure investments supported the improvement of roads and electricity service for many underprivileged communities. Its approach to education and volunteering contributed to spreading knowledge on the benefits of wind energy, fostering the growth of an environmentally conscious society.
In 2011, the energy generated by EDPRs wind farms avoided the emission of 9.5 million tons of CO2, contributing to a better global environment. Furthermore, throughout its business EDPR implemented measures that seek to minimize environmental impact, ranging from detailed biodiversity studies to the construction of Eco-efficient offices.
In 2011 EDPR installed 806 MW worldwide, in some of the most attractive countries for wind energy development. The addition of these top-class wind farms resulted in a portfolio of 7.5 GW by 2011 year-end, supporting Revenue generation which exceeds 1 billion euros. EDPR’s focus on operational excellence coupled with a controlled approach to risk, strengthens its premier value creation proposition.

In 2011 EDPR delivered a solid performance achieving strong operational and financial metrics, most notably a 13% year-on-year increase in Operating Cash-Flow to 643 million euros. Likewise, its environmental and social performance produced sound and sustainable results.
